About Us
We engage in many activities throughout the year, but can most often be found hanging out at the Buddhist Study Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
While many of us are associated with the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, we welcome all Buddhists.
If you are interested in participating in the Fellowship Club, please contact us .
The BSCFC aims to teach its member principles aligned with Buddhism, such as:
-
Gratitude - We must learn to be thankful for the things that we have, and haven't, wished for.
- Interdependence - It is important to realize that we don’t stand alone in this world. Everyone is connected in one way or another.
-
Compassion - Understanding, and empathy for others are necessary to treat everyone around us with kindness.
-
Wisdom - Through learning, observing, and reflection on our experiences we gain awareness and wisdom.
-
Self Responsibility - Once we start blaming others we become mindless. That is why it is important to control what you can in each circumstance.
-
Endurance - Persistence through difficult times is necessary for self-growth and learning.
-
Mental Discipline - Things might not always go the way that we expect them to, so we must learn to remain open-minded and flexible in such situations.
The Buddhist Study Center Fellowship Club (BSCFC) is made up of young adults ages 18-45 who seek to learn about Jodo Shinshu Buddhism in a social setting.
